Our trained and nurturing staff dedicate themselves to providing an open, creative environment where stimulating, appropriate learning- both planned and spontaneous occurs. Our staff are chosen both for their love of young children and their professional qualifications. Every staff member goes through a multi-step approval process, and are carefully evaluated to insure they are well-matched to deal with young children. Continuing eduational opportunities and in-service training are important parts of the professional growth of the staff.
Teacher Becky
Hi! My name is Teacher Becky and I am so excited to be Teacher Kimi’s assistant this year. This is my second year as her teaching
assistant. My husband Clarke and I have attended Westgate Chapel for the past 19 years. During that time at Westgate I have
volunteered in Children’s Ministry, helping as a substitute helper in Sunday school, assisting in Moppets classrooms, and assisting in the MPact program. My husband and I have four boys from ages 16t o 8. They are so precious to me and I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend time with your precious ones.
Teacher Debi
Hi! My name is Teacher Debi and I am thankful to be a part of Westgate Preschool. What an amazing and awesome place to teach children about Jesus. I will be working with Teacher Ema as her assistant. I have been working with Children’s ministries here for over 12years. I have been attending Westgate Chapel for many years my youngest has grown up here in the nursery to high school! My husband and I are blessed to have 5 children, two of them are still in this area and very involved with youth ministries. Children are truly a gift and are so very precious to me. In October we became grandparents to a beautiful grandson. We now also have another grandchild on the way in July. Life is busy and full of such Joy. I so enjoy spending time with my children and all their activities our youngest keep me very busy with all his sports! It is a privileged to have your child and they become such a part of my life I learn so much from them as their teacher.
Teacher Ema
Hello! I am Teacher Ema. This is my first year working as a teacher here at the preschool. I am very excited to work with the staff, children and families that I will come to meet through this experience. Although this is my first time in this position, I have substituted on many occasions at this preschool as well as at another public preschool. My husband and I have been going to Westgate Chapel for 12 years now and have taught Sunday school for the past 5. I also participate in Deaf Ministry by interpreting Sunday morning worship. We are blessed with 2 children, Jared, age 9 and Esther, age 7, who are growing up in this Church environment. I was born in the Philippines and grew up on Guam where I met my husband. We moved to Washington over 12 years ago. I graduated from the University of Washington. I enjoy working with my hands and have past and currenthobbies that include knitting, crocheting, jewelry making, and cross stitch. I am looking forward to teaching and being taught by the 3 and 4 year olds about Jesus’ vast love for all of us.
Teacher Jacii
Hi! I am Teacher Jacii and I am excited to be joining the Westgate Preschool team this year. At Westgate I have volunteered for the past 8 years in Children’s Ministry, as a Sunday School Teacher, working in Moppets, VBA and MPact classes. My husband Shane and I have two daughters Alina and Carmen, who attend Westgate with us, as well as, a grown daughter Tiffanie who lives in Marysville. As a family we like to take road trips, go to the beach, splash in puddles, read, and spend time together being silly and laughing. I believe spending time with children brings a tremendous amount of joy and satisfaction to life. Teaching kids is the biggest adventure on earth. There is nothing like the smiles that you receive as the day begins, the laughs that are shared throughout the day, and the hugs good-bye until a new day and a new adventure! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your precious child’s life, I know it will be a blessed time. We will have a wonderful time exploring, learning, and growing together.
Teacher Linda
Hello! My name is Linda Mayberry and I am so very happy to be a part of the Westgate Preschool! My husband Mel, our daughter Melinda who is 18, and I have lived in Shoreline for 20 years. As a family we like to go bike riding, camping and fishing. I love to read, garden, work with photography and watch old movies. We began attending Westgate Chapel 8 years ago and I enjoy helping in the Children’s Ministry and Vacation Bible School whenever I am able. I have had the privilege of teaching in Early Childhood Education for 18 years, starting first with my own Daycare-Preschool. When Melinda started school I began working for a local Christian school district as a teacher and later a Director’s Assistant. It is truly an honor to work with God’s little ones knowing each is a special gift from Him. My heart is not only to provide quality education but to help them understand who Jesus is and how much He loves them!

Hi! My name is Karen Parkinson. I am thrilled to be a part of Westgate Chapel Preschool and consider it a great privilege and blessing to be with your children! It continues to be my heart’s desire to share with children about the vast love that Jesus has for them! My husband, Keith, and I reside in Edmonds and have two wonderful children~ Breanna 22 and a 16 year old son, Chad. I have attended Westgate Chapel for about 20 years and have been involved in Children’s Ministries in both teaching and assisting capacities for most of those years. I have worked throughout my career as an LPN until my last child. Raising my family and volunteering has kept me busy since then! I began working as a substitute elementary ParaEducator for the Edmonds School District for several years before joining Westgate Preschool three years ago as a teacher assistant. I enjoy spending time with my family, arts and crafts, camping and the outdoors. I am looking forward to this coming new school year and getting to know your child as well as you, their family!
Teacher Kimi
Hi! My name is Kimi. I am blessed to be a part of the Westgate Preschool team. I have served and worked with children
since I was 15 years old. I have had experience with children from preschool age to serving in the junior high ministry. I was a nanny for 6 years and after having my own precious children I devoted my time to them. I have been married for 16 years to my best friend Christopher. We have two wonderful children, Wynton age 10 and Aubrey age 8. I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, biking, cooking, and singing. I am so excited to meet all the children and to get to know them. I believe all
children are a precious gift from the Lord. I consider it a blessing to teach your children, and I know I will learn from your children too!
Director Pasi
Hello! I am Pasi Pillai and this is my 15th year teaching at Westgate Preschool. I love working with young children and I feel so blessed that I get to work with God’s children. I was born and received my education in the Fiji Islands. I have also received my Early Childhood Diploma from Vanguard University in California. I have been married to my wonderful husband Harry. We have two kids of our own, Angelica who is in 11grade and Jesse who is in 8th grade. We as a family have attended Westgate Chapel as our home church for the past 19 years. We are BLESSED.
Teacher Paula
Hello! My name is Paula Perez and I teach one of the 4/5 yr old classes. My husband, Paul, and I have been attending Westgate Chapel for over 10 years, and we have both been involved in Children’s Ministries for many years, including Sunday School, Junior Bible Quiz, and Vacation Bible Adventure. Paul and I met at the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish). We have two wonderful sons, Zack, age 17, and Jonah, age 14 (who was one of Teacher Pasi’s students long ago). I homeschooled my sons for nine years but now they are both in high school. I am an artist and I love to paint and do to anything else creative! I am a member of Westgate Chapel Adult Choir and I am especially interested in gardening, healthy nutrition, and sign language.
Teacher Ronda
Hello! My name is Ronda Tveit and may I just say that I am so excited to be once again joining the Preschool staff here at Westgate. I am married to my best friend, Shad for almost 14 years and we have 4 amazing children. Nicholas is our 12 year old, Josiah is our 10 year old, he is followed by our daughter Abby who is 6-1/2 years old (the ½ being all so important) and rounding out our “Final Four” is our daughter Rebecca who is just over 2 years old. We have attended Westgate Chapel for approximately 20 years and are involved in Children’s ministries. My husband teaches Sunday school and you can usually find me in the nursery on Sunday mornings. I have had the pleasure of being part of this amazing staff at Westgate Preschool on and off (depending which baby came along) and so look forward to re-joining this “family” once again. It is a privilege and such a blessing to come alongside the families here at Westgate’s preschool to enrich, teach and love on your children to whom you have entrusted to us. May we shine for Jesus in their little lives!
