Vision and Mission – What is Westgate School of Ministry?
Jesus says in Matthew 28:18-20, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Westgate School of Ministry is profoundly committed to this decree from Christ. Our vision is that we would learn together what Jesus meant when He said to “go,” what He meant by “make disciples,” and what it means to obey everything that He commanded us to do. Our vision is that we want to create the space for students to encounter and be transformed by experiences with both God and their fellow neighbors. It is our desire to make disciples who have a holistic, radical understanding of what it means to love not just God, but their neighbor(s) as well.
Our hope is that we not give students just a general understanding of how to love God and neighbor rightly, but to help them make faithful, real-life decisions as they continue to discern their place within the Body of Christ. With this in mind, it is our desire to help students be the best Christians they can be; whatever field of study they may be going into. We, then, are very committed to providing our students with valuable guidance, opportunities, and experiences, that roots their identity deep into the person of Christ. Come join us on this journey!
Westgate School of Ministry partners with Northwest University to provide the ideal learning environment for students. While interning at Westgate, they will also be working towards a fully accredited degree of their choice. Students will intern at Westgate Chapel, but will be taught by Northwest University professors. This allows students to take classes and achieve degrees that have the highest accreditation while also gaining practical, hands-on ministry experience here at Westgate Chapel.
