Emergency Services Food & Clothing Banks

Each week we operate a food and clothing bank for the less fortunate on Thursdays from 11am-2pm at Westgate Chapel in Edmonds. Our heart is to serve the community in several ways. We offer not only food and clothing, but a time for listening to the client’s needs, praying with them and offering other resources both financial and practical.

Food Bank

Each week we operate a food and clothing bank for the less fortunate. The food we distribute is donated by Northwest Harvest, Food Lifeline, United States Federal Commodities Program, Washington State and Local Food Purchasing programs. Westgate Chapel Emergency Services is wholly funded by donations of the Westgate Chapel family and the greater Edmonds, Washington community. We also purchase food when donations are not sufficient. We are a member of the Snohomish County Food coalition which is made up of nineteen food banks in our county. Our agency is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Clothing Bank

Open during the same hours as the Food Bank, the Clothing Bank offers community clients a selection of new and gently used clothing and selected household items. In addition to food, clothing, and household items are donated by the Westgate Chapel congregation and the greater Edmonds community. Clothing is free of charge, but recipients must register in the Food Bank for this service.

Prayer Counselors

Many clients come to the Food Bank burdened with personal and family issues. For those clients, the Emergency Services prayer counselors are available to pray with them and guide them to community services that can assist in meeting their practical needs.

Financial Assistance

In addition to Food and Clothing, we also provide limited financial assistance, gasoline and community transit tickets for appointments or job searches and/or grocery cards for specialized items that are not available in the food bank.
